Made my first jigs tonight, lads. Look like absolute shit, but much cheaper to lose than premade ones.
Came upon a problem, though. What's the proper hook-to-plastic ratio? I tried 3/0, since I'm targeting trout and flounder and don't know how big their mouths are, but the jigs don't look right with a 5" paddle on. I cut one, and went 3" on the other.
Also, I'm trying different loop locations for the spoons. Anybody know the thought process behind a professional chatterbait or spinbait?
>>1532508Fucking babby simple. Got me back into fishing last year.
I use a reel now, but when I get frustrated with lakes and beaches, a nice creek is the perfect salve.
Buy a Chinese "carp" rod, though. There's literally no benefit to a $500 hipster setup.
>>1532582Just go. Do stocked trout if you're scared.
