3rd day trying to catch my first carp ended in failure. i at least saw one this time. big.
i have been using method leads with hair rigs. oatmeal sweet corn and jello as pack bait. had scented fake corn on the hairs. had a lot of bites, but as soon as i touch the rod they're gone. eventually i cut the hairs off and just tried putting real corn straight on the hook. same results, lots of bites, no hook ups.
also had one rod with a slip sinker and size 2 baitholder hook cover in corn. 2 turtles and a bluegill on that one.
i am running out of ideas. i'm using 15lb braid for everything, i dunno if that is spooking them or what but i dont think i can go any lighter and still land a big one.
maybe its just too hot, maybe i'm just shit at fishing. i'm pretty shit at everything else.
