So I got the idea from how you typically grow beans and how some weeds grow: they twist and coil around strings, posts, pipes etc. So I thought maybe I can do this with tomatoes, only doing the opposite and twist the strings around tomato stems as the plants grow and mature. So far it's working great. Might take pics tomorrow.
I have bad experience with just tying them to posts, namely if the tie is too loose, the whole plant just falls to the ground and if the tie is too tight, you either damage the plant or it hurts itself as the stems become thicker over time, not to mention when the fruits get ripe and heavy and pull even more on the plant. This way the plants will always be held up hopefully with no issues.
