But was with a fidgety friend whos also new to hunting but a middle aged man.
>I feel like this season will finally be my seasonI've got some decent gear now. I've made and learned from quite a few mistakes now. I've also been eating up as much hunting content as possible for the last year while unable to hunt. ALSO, Its taken a few years but I finally have access to 3 different really good hunting spots within an hour and a half drive. I know theres loads of wild life here, even black bears on 2 of the properties.
>I feel like getting access to good spots was one of the biggest hurdles for me as a total noob.I was stuck hunting crappy, crowded wildlife management areas near me. If you live in washington state you probably have a lot of really good public land to hunt on though.
Cooking stuff on the rare occasion is interesting too. Proper preparation can make or break a piece of wild game meat. My GF is also all about eating meat i've hunted instead of factory farmed packaged bullshit from a store.
Good luck man! Stay determined. Shits wild, and hard, and frustrating, and uncomfortable but incredibly rewarding! I'm trying to make it out to colorado to chase elk around the mountains with my bow this year in addition to hunting the deer, turkey, bear, squirrels, and rabbits here in VA.
