looking towards forester pass from the south in july 2012. this is the highest point on the Pacific Crest Trail. the bit of snow in the middle marks the pass.
the year i hiked was an extreemely low snow year for the sierra's. i never once used my ice-axe or microspikes. i was fortunate , as i woulda been rather humbled to navigate this pass while not trusting snowy footprints.
