Anyone know what pic related is and if trout eat them? Saw quite a few. I was taking notes on why insects I saw. Didn't have a clue what any of them were but I know what they look like

>>1085262I'm probably not the best person to ask seeig as this is my first year even targeting trout. From what I've learned so far your best bet to catch them is to go at sun up or in down when it is the coldest during the day. I did that this morning and it payed off. I also changed locations to a spring fed creek instead of one that flows out of a lake. The temperature of the water was noticeably different. This is my 4th or 5th outing of the summer and it's certainly a grind but I really enjoy it. Every time I go out I get better and learn new things. The guy I spoke with at the shop yesterday said as the temps continue to drop with autumn rolling in the middle of the day will become the best time to fish. I'm very much looking forward to that.
