But I would be more worried about the spiders and other insects, of course, If you are from the US or Europe then it should be fairly safe, not counting the southern regions.
Other countries can have nasty surprises inside though, for example in HongKong most homeless people live on the top of the buildings, almost nobody makes shelters inside the jungle because of pic related.
