>>1492110Cycle the pollen bags every 2-3 weeks except for winter when you want to keep those safe in case of flowers growing in the winter. Typically, the Q-tips with pollen will last you a month but to be safe, swap them out every few weeks so its fresh and you get better plants. Go to The 99 Cents Store and buy a 20 pack of those plastic brushes that you can use to paint the flowers with (the pollen) when they're ready.
It all helped with my gardening box (I underestimated everything because I calculated the correct pH and space for the plants but I ended up with 8 feet tall tomato plants, 4 feet tall marigolds, 3.5 feet tall basil plants and the pollen i the bags helped during the wintertime (so many flowers that the bees and beneficial insects weren't enough to get everything pollinated). The bees did most of the work in the summer.
