Medium size is great if you also do /trv because its carry on size for most airlines.
But why wouldnt you go for L size? That way you wouldnt need to strap gear outside of the back. And if you choose to do longer trips, you wont run out space. + L looks quite bad ass with Molle pouches if you like that look.
