>>1457523>Thinking of a Hilleberg Nammatj 2 GT. Or is this a overpriced meme? It's a good tent, but it is overbuilt for most situations, and it is very heavy and pricey. Unless you plan a arctic expedition I'd recommend a quality tent but one notch down. If you like the Nammatj then the Bergans Trolhetta 3 is a solid alternative from another Skandi maker for 1/3 of the price. This is still a fortress that will survive years of touring in Skandinavia and the high mountains.
After years of using tunnel tents I switched to tarps myself, I usually hike solo and the weight of a solid tunnel was annoying. I use a MLD Duomid XL with a basic inner and pimped the rigging with some dyneema and speed cleats. I save 2.5kg on the tunnel and the shelter is very solid and roomy, only it is slightly cooler and more drafty than the tunnel, but also less moist in adverse conditions.
the tunnel has the advantage that you can pitch it bone dry even in a storm, the tarp is complicated to pitch in adverse conditions. I use a telescopic mountain staff, so under normal conditions pitching the tarp or packing up is extremely fast.
