Then there's the tools/saw/rope/water under the seat of my sled... another water, gatorade, more survival gear, flares, spare parts (spark plugs, heim joints) in the case on the back of my sled... lunch under the hood...

My moto pack is just as heavy since I stash my toolkit in there, and carry 3L of water there too.

Pistol, camera(s), windbreaker, spare gloves, first aid stuffs, snacks, radio...

XD40, Benchmade knife, Gerber tool, BCA Tracker beacon, B52 shovel, SR3 probe, Snowpulse Highmark II pack, cheap camp saws (one in my pack, one on my sled), bear spray on my pack in the summer, VHF/UHF 5W radio, compass, trail maps, extra gloves, extra socks, lighters, duct tape, black trash bags (the heavy/thick ones, not the cheap grocery-store shit), mule tape, carabiners... i'm sure i'm missing some stuff. Then there's all my protective gear, tools to fix sled/bike, camera equipment, spare bike/sled parts...

Pack, minus camera and pistol.

My concern with infographics .... what's good for one environment/activity may be terrible for another.

Firestarting, for example ... On my snowmobile, there's a 11.something gallon fuel tank. Gasoline vapors are flammable ... a tampon dipped in the fuel tank touched off with a lighter makes an excellent firestarter.

But the guy showshoeing just across the wilderness boundary ... doesn't have gallons of gasoline at his disposal.

I suppose it could cover some basics ... difference between "wilderness" and "backcountry"... common-sense items to carry with you, basic first-aid kit and basic first-aid how-to... tell someone where you're going and when you'll be back ... that sort of thing.

I could build up a few, but they'd be powersports-related.
