Tried the black oil sunflower seed microgreen thing, these were in a tiny bit of soil and seemed quite happy. This is after about a week. But, it also cost 3$ for the seeds, so the next thing I did was buy a big bulk bag of sunflower birdseed, which is also sprouting and looks like it'll perform just as well.
