>>1217388The bottom rack is my miscellaneous/long term growth rack. It has more vertical space and has adjustable height lights to accommodate different plant heights.
The fruiting tomatoes are from half a store bought on-the-vine ( whatever that means ) that my girlfriend used half for some food we were making and then buried the other half. They grew pretty quick and robust which makes me wonder if they are GMO. I don’t really care that much about organic ( I use miracle grow brand “organic” soil, all I can get around here ) but I’m trying to keep it as natural as possible.
To answer your question, around 2-3 months for flower then fruiting pretty quickly after that.
I have some organic tomatoes plants that are too big for the rack now, but have failed to flower so far.
I also have started and been failing pretty miserably at some cucumber vines. But I have some great kale plants my gf loves to cut off and munch on individual leaves throughout the day while still keeping the plant alive, ( apparently I am running the greenhouse equivalent of the cannibal cellar in The Road )
But what I am super stoked about is my Serrano and jalapeño peppers are flowering and several just “fruited” ( if that term applies to peppers ) just waiting on some ghost peppers to flower next!
I usually take a couple seeds from each batch of micro greens and move them to the long term rack just for fun. Wish I had space for more!
Anyone know if baker creek heirloom seed co. has reliable seeds? ( rareseeds DOT com )
Looking to grow some more exotic stuff and had some bad luck with other seed sites. ( like eden bros... ugh )
