While we're on the subject, I found some berries in norther MI (Isle Royale to be exact) that I couldn't identify.
They looked kind of like raspberries, but they were slightly bigger. They didn't grow on bushes, though, but on tiny ground plants, with just a few berries per plant. They tasted like a cross between strawberries and raspberries. Here's a shitty picture.
