They run a little bit large, so you should go to an actual retailer to check how they fit before getting a pair. You'll need to break them in properly and pop a good pair of insoles into them, otherwise they're uncomfortable to walk in for any reasonable distance, and the canvas ones are basically glorified sneakers.
As for aesthetics, choose the ones on the right. They will leak water even if you treat the fabric, but as long as you don't fold them down you won't look like a total fag. picrelated
