>gud>>327924>>327878>bikes? age? luggage situationWhat type of bikes exactly? Enduros.
>CDN or US start? Are you leaving from CDN or US?
If so some items might cause you issues crossing.
Namely your spray, hatchets, and knives.
Mace is illegal and will be confiscated coming in. But not sure if they'll let you bring bear spray over.
>rain suitI'd replace the rain suit with something lighter. So that you can also comfortably use it around camp or if you're off the bikes for a while and are in the rain.
>iodine tabsreplace it with a Sawyer system.
>shovelDitch the shovel. Get a garden trowel.
>batteriesCharging systems for your electronics are easy to get and setup. Just be careful using them. If used incorrectly you can find yourself fucked with a dead battery.
Bumping is difficult and dangerous with a loaded bike
>4 sets of clothes, plently of layeringSeems excessive.
A heavy leather jacket+pants with a good wool base layer can take you to 0C without a windshield.
>cookingWhat's your set look like? What are you planning on eating? Since there's two of you, it's much easier to carry proper food.
I'd say against the folding stove. They take up a lot of bag space. Get a nice little backpacking stove with a windscreen and remote bottle line.
I've never really given it thought, but I wonder if you could use gasoline in a little alcohol stove....
>clothesline, pegsTake two lengths of your line. Wrap one tightly around the other. Then you can just pull apart the two lines and stick your clothes in. Beats losing pegs. And you now have even more rope incase whatever.
>no mention of tarps or bike coversTarp is always useful. In terrible weather you can string it between the two bikes(make sure they're not facing into the wind (^;).
If you're saving on space don't bring the cover. I just prefer having one for peace of mind and a dry seat.
Some company makes a tarp/hammock/3-way tarp thing.
