- ziplock bags. Also,if you got the $$$ get the ziplock sliders freezer bags. They tend not split their seams as often for me
- pelican 1040 hard case. If you don't need ready access to your phone... and your paranoid, like me, about it getting smashed somehow while inside your pack...get it. And then put it inside a ziplock freezer bag because murphy's law.
- chinesium waterproof smartphone pouches. I only use these for when I really need access to the touchscreen and gonna 100% piss rain while I'm out. They work great but it's chinesium so don't depend on it lasting for forever. And by forever I mean within six months.
protip: be sure not to leave your phone turned on all day while inside it's waterproof case, bag or pouch. otherwise it may end generating enough trapped heat to kill the smartphone. learned that the hard way :(
