Flint knapping is definately on the list of things id like to learn soon. would be nice to finaly have something to use my pine pitch glue on.
since this is a primitive skills thread i thought id ask here. see. ive been using avocado seeds for my bowdrill socket/bearing block for some time now. they are extraordinarily good. low friction. low wear. low weight etc. but they tend to be kind of small
and ive seen a lot of folks use stones. since avocado is not native to my country but huge beaches are. id be interested to know if anyone here uses a stone for a bearing block/socket for a bow and drill fire. and also what kind of stone and how to identify it. i'l just come clear and say i know less about rocks then i do about sewage outflow piping
