Carbon steel gets sharp real fast on the $10 pull-thru sharpener, stays sharp longer than budget stainless steel knoifes IME. Rust isn’t an issue as long as I don’t leave the thing wet overnight. Horizontal carry is comfy AF, got me hooked on fixed blades instead of folders or a box cutter, and the sheath seems to hold better for longer than the CRKT I had before. Carbon steel seems to hold up to abuse well too.
