>>2203428>The impression that I get from Europeans is that they're a little more serious about going /out/, ESPECIALLY when it comes to mountaineering or skiing.I think the bar to entry is harder in the europe than in the states (even transport costs, since many people don't get a car), so you tend to see fewer people going outdoors, but the people who are /out/ are far more dedicated.
On the other hand in america it's a lot more accessible, so you see a wide range of everyone from beginners, to casuals, to dedicated backpackers and hardcore mountaineers.
That said, in accessible/touristy areas of europe, you definitely still see clueless casuals, pic related
