>>1883811Guys, there’s already a dog specifically bred for the purpose of being an /out/ companion: the rat terrier. It has its roots as a farm dog used for pest control, hence the name. They also have the strongest pair bonding instinct of any breed outside of toys. You won’t find a more loyal dog. Many other breeds make great dogs for various outdoor activities, but only a handful (one that I know of) was specifically bred for the purpose of companionship while doing it.
