Wind-blown corn.
What are some good tips on keeping your corn from getting flattened by storm winds? I can't plant wind break shrubs because it takes too much to do it properly. What are some good varieties to get that can better hold up to strong winds? One year I staked all my corn. It survived all the wind, but racoons eat everything. Since then I've totally electrified everything, but haven't been staking since it takes sooo many stakes, twine, and time.
I have flint corn (rainbow Indian corn I think), some Hopi blue corn, purple Peruvian corn (maiz morado), bloody butcher, and painted mountain corn. some of those are pretty short and wind resistant, but others reach a staggering 15-20 feet tall (I had to jump up to harvest some that didn't get blown over and I'm 6'2".).
