>>1773173Pic related is from the sweatshirts we had made that year, I still wear it nearly every cold day although it might be time to retire it.
Going off what I mentioned about letting someone know a firm time you'll be out, we had an outing somewhere north of Exeter and I got my first taste of single rope technique. After a day of learning the ropes, literally, we went to a nearby cave to try out our new skills. After maybe 250, 300 feet into the cave there was about a 50 foot drop to rappel down to continue the trek. All well and good until it was time to go back up it, with 3 or 4 guys new to SRT it took ages and we were about an hour late getting out of the cave. Our man outside was dialing the number of the rescue crew when we caught up with him. But I'll never forget coming out of that cave and seeing a sky full of stars above me. That's the high I'm chasing.
