tanning has to be leached (using lime solution made out of hardwood coals) to boil, or put in running water, acorns has to be crushed afterwards

as for the nettle you only eat young plants in early spring or just youngest leaves from the top of the plant because old ones contains cystoliths which will damage your kidneys
I usually eat them raw, as a snack, if you manage to fold them hiding the stings and crushing them with your teeth you're good
if can swallow it won't do shit to your stomach (it is acid resistant man), you can also quickly blanch them over the fire or prepare like spinach on the frying pan
YOU SHOULD ALWAYS EAT ONLY THE PLANTS YOU RECOGNIZE, LOTS OF POISONOUS SPECIES ARE EASY TO MISTAKE WITH SAFE ONES
