night.To get attention get Fog Horn and make sure it works before you go out. Also some quickset putty might be good for patching up cracks or damage you get on the water. If you using kayak at ocean or inshore with allot of current get anchor sytem for emegency. Always take someone with you with more experience than you. Our coast gaurd got tracking app for vessels on phone. Maybe you have something similar or even just sharing live location with family member.
