Just picked up the easthills Jungle Explorer from Amazon, it already has two small rips. One on the bug net seam and one on stuff sack. The bug net seam is definitely manufacturer error, but the sack was user error as I tripped on the carrying strap. Gonna sew both rips and cut the strap on the pouch off, since I carry the thing in my pack anyway. Honestly in a few checks thinking of just splurging for the Eno stuff, the easthills straps are still good and the tarp functions fine but an Eno single nest and their lightweight bug net are looking mighty tempting. So glad to not be on the ground, since I camp by a river and sand is not comfortable. Also, do I need a drip line to stay properly dry or will the tarp just work as long as I set it up right? Totally new to hanging.
