>>1473866If you want to escape normies go to Modoc. I live in Lake County and can isolate myself completely in under and hour's drive. Dismal Creek runs from the Warner Mountains in Oregon down to Fort Bidwell (near Alturas) and the wetlands and forest in between is pristine and largely unvisited.
While you're there just dedicate a day to exploring the forest roads. Get US topo maps app or avenza for Fremont and Modoc forests and go wild. You'll find a lot of old Gold/Opal/Mercury mines from 1900-1960, very cool area.
Do me a favor tho and forget you ever visited when you leave. We're already way too full of transplants and I dont want to be responsible for fucking my town over because of a dumbass 4chan post.
Also, the locals are okay. Dont come in with hiking poles and a Subaru Outback drinking coconut water and they'll accept you.
