>grab shotgun loaded with alternating 00buck and slugs
>run outside and see one sprinting to the back
>run to the back and see my cat maybe 2 feet up the colossal oak being manhandled by the smaller pit
>in awe at the spectacle, chamber first 00buck
>cat is torn down from tree and they're both going at it
>toss 00buck for first slug and pop the big one with in the hind
>they both stop and just look at me
>smaller one charges at me

>shoot my hot lead load into it's head and chest and it goes down
>hit bigger one in chest with next slug two
>cat takes off at warp speed
>big one starts limping away as if it's not already dead
End result two dead pits and a cat with PTSD. Now that I have a trained german shepherd cat is warming up to dogs. Letting an unruly dog roam free is asking for it to be gunned down or euthanized
