this is my 2 year old black lab i got through the humane society where i live. He listens incredibly well considering his age, we go hiking in a tree farm right across from my driveway regularly.

however i know for a fact he would take off after any critter he happened upon. ive watched plenty of youtube stuff, but if anyone had their own methods to keep their dog on the trail, id love to hear it.

i cant imagine going hiking without my buddy, and when i can finally get him off leash things will be even better

ahhh, we can work with this. i know not to act pissed when calling him back, and we never go out unless i have a pocket full of treats, but bringing a tug toy is a very good idea, he will be all over that.

we dont have a "leave it" command established, which im sure is very important. any thoughts on a teaching method there? i will be googling but i trust the sc/out/s.
