There's essentially no distinction now other than the previously metallic looking side has a slight "sheen". The photo isn't fully accurate looking due to light reflection, but the actual difference between it and in person is rather subtle. This thing is about 4 years old now, slept on nightly the entire time, the silver was mostly gone first year.
