Canadafag here.
I spent 7 days innawoods, sunrise to sunset, saw 1 barely legal spike but let him go. He would come around almost every day but fuck it what's going to be left for next year if I shot him?
Anyways, I was seeing 15 does or so per day on the average, but it's buck-only here in Quebec.
This year has been disastrous for the whole province. Statistics (although not complete for the year but almost) are showing something like half of the usual number of deer killed.
The Wildlife ministry slashed their budget and half of game wardens lost their jobs (I guess there's a correlation with the number of game officers and deer killed lol).
Every hunter I talked to was depressed. Many are even letting go of hunting as it costs too much and you get nothing out of it. I really like deer hunting /out/ but it's starting to be ridiculous.
Natives (Indians) can kill as much as they want and they don't pay for tags. Also, there's a lot of poaching going on and game officers can't do shit about it because they're overwhelmed with work.
Maybe I'll try to hunt in Vermont next year ... apparently there's a lot of game there even if it's just across the border. Our retarded government should do something about it or next year there will be no deer left.
Anyway, the does here are super relaxed - maybe because they know we can't shoot them - this one (pic related) didn't mind me walking up to my blind while smoking and making noise.
