if it's real windy i'll use my stove to light it.
I normally run it overnight, from around dinner time 6PM to 10AM the next morning. When you're idle at camp you lose the most body heat anyways, so it makes sense to light it when you're waiting for your snow to melt
if you overfill it you can get around 16-18 hours, and if it goes out, refilling and re-lighting once your tent is set up isn't a big deal
