>>1443957My GF and I hiked two thirds of the National Scottish Trail (basically the lenght of Scotland) one summer. It rained a fucking lot. Pic related is day 12, somewhere in the middle of nowhere
We both wore non-goretex leather boots of good quality, that had recieved a hefty layer of wax just before the trip. If I where to do it again I'd either bring boots with gore-tex or at least bring wax along for the trip. On rainy days my feet often got soaked in the end.
*ps. make sure all of your rain clothes are of good quality and have options for ventilation like zippers under the armpits and down the legs. The pants should be able to come on and off without taking your boots off (so full lenght zippers). And for the love of good don't bring rain pants that are *slightly* to short like I did. Rain came down my ancles everytime I kneeled or took long step up a rock.
