You're arguing semantics. Ive filleted both and eaten them too. They aren't great, they're fished commercially in the Pacific so people see them on the menu at restaurants and presume the expensive fish on the menu is the best eating. The east coast comparison might be grouper or something, they're about the most pricey you'll find at a commercial eatery but in the grand scheme of things they aren't amazing.
