There was a raven that was using the surface of the perfectly flat snow at the edge of a lake to draw a large grid on the surface with it's feet. it was about a 4' x 4' area and there was a grid with squares about 3" lined into the surface of the snow.
the only explanation i can think up for a raven doing something like that is because it was using it for writing, trying to draw a calendar or derive the pythagorean theorem maybe
