I absolutely adore my coleman liquid fuel lamp. It is heavy, so I don't bring it backpacking, but it is perfect on my sailboat, or while car-camping, or cutting wood or working outside my house. The smell brings me back to my youthful days when I sat in a cold metal shed in the early mornign winter hours with just my lamp and my old tube ham radio, talking to people around the world.
I also like my Aladdin Genie III lamp for indoor use; it combines a liquid kerosene wick design with a large phosphorescent mantle, and puts out a lovely warm 60W-equivalent light.
