Think about it for a minute. If I went up to a random black person and I said "I really hate you", do you suppose he would be particularly offended? Probably not, because he doesn't know me, and he knows that there is no logical reason that I should hate him. He would probably be bewildered and a bit shocked, but not angry or deeply offended.
Now if I had called him a nigger, what changes? It's essentially the same sentiment. I'm still a random stranger. He still knows that my words are illogical. So why does he become filled with rage? Why does he want to cry or become violent? The reason is simple: He has allowed society and the media to train him like a dog to react to that particular word in a particular way.
