>>1713408I got about a 98% germination rate with the seeds I bought, but maybe a couple were just a little funky. Other Reaper/Bhut Jolokai plants turned out okay but 1-2 of each has the funky leaves.
The second cup is whole, in order to hold water/fertilizer. It allows me to bottom feed them and avoid white mold growing on the soil. It seems to work well so far with the majority of the peppers, though I think I should be transplanting these soon (or already should have)?
Problem is space..I bought into the "super hots take 4 weeks to germinate a seed" meme and am now forced to work with 2x4Freedom Eagles space (currently condensed to apx 2x3ft to create a tighter volume of light/higher PAR). I hope to keep them in these cups for anywhere from 1-4 weeks longer since I'm in the Midwest US and weather is schizophrenic.
Thanks, when I do end up transplanting them I'll make sure to mix up my own soil and use some perlite.
