Some would say tarpon or sailfish for their size and acrobatics
Some would day bluegill or similar for their fight per pound
Personally i cant say i have an oppinion on the best fish having not caught a ton of different species.
For ohio id have to say steelhead for their size, power, acrobatics, etc. For salt water, of what ive caught, spanish mackerel is a great power/weight ratio. I can only imagine what a king is like. Id also love to go after red drum and tarpon, too. Especially on a fly rod.
