>>2723134I combine my bivy with a tarp so that when the near frost comes I have a decent paired up option. It's good being a regular size person because if gives you better shelter options in the imrpov. If you have a really decent sleeping bag it's amazing what you can actually make comfortable. This is my setup. Big enough to cover a thermarest Z lite and as long as you sling it low to the ground you can actually stay relatively warm. At least to about -9c as is in this pic. You might note that my pic is at night and has sleeping gear under it because I actually sleep out in less than ideal conditions a fair bit. Generally this is a good benchmark of people who set up daylight shelter but don't actually spent multiple nights out depending on it. What you should do is get one of the heavier guage ones for the shelter and a light one for the floor. The reason I used this is because I can just pull up stakes and wear my shelter as I leave. All I have to do is roll my bivy and bag up in a bundle, accordion the mat and unplug the shelter. Breakdown of camp is very fast this way and good for tresspassing. If you don't need the breakdown speed just get a DD3x3 and make an enclosed shelter with the usual coffin pitch. It's really comfy and roomy.

>>2723222Nice. I have one of these as well. I use mine more because it's lighter than the one in my pic but it's also strong. They are getting less cheap as they dry up now which is a shame.
