>>1107303Personally I prefer canvas tarp over plastic one because it can be used as a blanket and I will not get cold because the moisture building inside. It doesn't rain most of the days.
Same goes with jackets or boots. Using gore-tex you are sweaty 100% of the time, using natural materials you are 90% of the time comfortable and 10% wet.
Add price factor to it and membranes are not worth the hassle.
Ok, I admit gore tex boots are better than wellies and going out when it's downpour would be wise in full rain proof cloting.
