I can relate to your fear of making a fool of yourself, but not to a degree that made me stop doing the things I love.
I hope you can overcome your anxiety and not let it stop you from doing the things you want to do forever.
Remember what David Foster Wallace wrote; "You'll stop caring about what tohers think of you, when you realize how seldom they do".
Most people have more than enough trying to not make fools of themselves to have the time to ridicule others. The ones that do find the time can go fuck themselves.
I really hope you can get a grip on your anxiety and try out some stuff. Skiing is very possible to do by yourself, and bouldering is a very fun form of climbing imo that can be done alone if you want.
Since you already have the shoes, maybe see if you can find a bouldering gym nearby? If that's too much, most places have outdoor bouldering within reasonable distance too, where you could go and be alone.
