>>2352383Well like I said, the Exos is one the best packs they’ve ever made, but fills a weird niche between ultralight and more traditional gear. It’s not that popular for that reason. People either opt for an Aura or Atmos, or an ultralight pack.
I’ve been using the same one since 2014. I’m not a mong who drags his gear behind a truck down a gravel road, but I also don’t stick to well manicured paved “trails” in city parks. There some kind of PU coating on the top flap that’s peeling pretty badly, and I had to have the sternum strap buckle replaced. Plus the elastic on the trekking pole stowage thing is dealing kind of funky and may not last much longer.
All Exos models are a fairly light 100d nylon with 230d for the susceptible areas. Other packs use the same material, but don’t have the netting suspension system (the Gregory Focal and the older Optic do; it’s a direct competitor). The 2022 version finally brought back hip belt pockets that they’d removed in 2018, and added an adjustable height shoulder harness.
