After one 60 mile day into a headwind, I put in another near-century day, ending here
>>193719This day featured the worst roads of any portion of the trip. First came 15 miles of shoulders which looked like this. Then the shoulder vanished entirely for another 10 miles or so. Luckily, one of the people working on building the new shoulder told me that I could ride in the lane they had coned off for their vehicles.
Later in the day I had to put 13 miles in on the interstate. There weren't any alternatives, and the shoulder was colossal, but every exit was terrifying. I was glad to get off after passing two.
