Pipe of the night
Pre-WWII GBD bulldog with Elizabethan.
Most people know GBD as an English brand, but for most of their first century, they were made in France. This one is made in Paris, their original home, where Ganneval, Bondier and Donninger started the firm in 1850. They expanded to London in the very early 1900s, and moved French production to St. Claude not long after, so this may be a very old pipe indeed. And it has the wear to prove it.
Nevertheless it smokes fantastic, is a fine example of a classic French bulldog shape, and I love the feel of the taper stem.
