My medium ALICE pack is mostly stock, other than adding paracord pull tabs and silencers to all the snaps so they're easier to open and close and don't rattle. The large ALICE pack has shoulder straps from the MOLLE 2 backpack, but is otherwise stock. I haven't found any need for any further modification, as the ALICE pack honestly is pretty damn close to perfect as-is. One of the most well thought out pieces of gear the military ever adopted.
