Hello friends, complete and total beginner here that is somewhat curious about tenkara/ other telescoping poles like dadgum as something to do both as backcountry entertainment/ sustenance and as a hobby for both me and my 7 year old daughter to enjoy learning together.
I'm really only considering tenkara over more traditional rod and reel set up as I like backpacking and live in an area where there are mountain lakes and streams all over/ within reasonable driving distance, but am of course looking through the links in OP as jonboat fishin' with her sounds just as fun.
