>>2671929Once at the refuge I hanged my socks and boots and shirt on the wood stove they had there to dry them up, I got some meat and some cake, hot coffee and tea and some red wine, met some guys and we hanged out, was very pleasant and unexpected since the refuge should’ve been closed and was only open due to some maintenance they had going on.
I rested there for a couple hours and then came back down, and I noticed a stark difference in my physical capability after having eaten an actual meal and having warmed up.
The refuge mangers were very surprised when I told them I had slept outside during the night, idk people always act shocked for that, is it really that unusual?
I also met a local couple while going to the car and talked with them, I like these random encounters in the mountains and usually they’re nice people.
Well I learned some lessons the hard way without suffering any permanent consequences, which is the best kind of suffering.
All in all it mostly sucked but it was good experience to look back at and learn from.
