Even after filtering several times I can still taste the copper, but stainless is tolerable. Glass ones are heaven sent. A borosilicate laboratory glassware Vigreux distilling column like this one (left pic) is only about $12 off ebay and entire kits are under $150, though their capacity is a bit low. You only need the Vigreux distilling column and a reflux condensing column (right pic) which is like $20-$30 on ebay I think. That way the vapors only ever touch the glassware during the most crucial phases. These work great for water distilling or alcohol distilling. The entire kits are best for essential oils since their capacity is usually pretty low for the under $150 stuff.
