I've had problems with the quench in the past, which is why i need the practice hardening. And also seekng the performance of knives after being annealed at different temperatures.

Here's a picture of a knife I made for my mom. I needed the practice, so I asked her a few questions about what she needed in a knife for the kitchen. This knife is pretty ugly, but she loved it, and hasn't had to sharpen it once in the six months she's had it. She uses it for deboning.
